Oracle Enterprise Manager 13c Release 5 Update 14 (13.5.0.14) is now available
April 7, 2023 | 4 minute readOracle Enterprise Manager 13.5.0.14 download available on My Oracle Support
If you have been following the EM releases for a while, you are already familiar with Release Updates (RUs). RUs are the agile way to roll out new EM features and bug fixes, so you don't have to wait for a major release. RUs are versioned with a trailing digit indicating the RU version. Note that RUs are cumulative, which means that the most recent RU includes functionality from all previous release updates. Our general recommendation is to apply the most current RU as soon as possible.

Key updates in Oracle Enterprise Manager 13.5 RU14
A set of major new capabilities made their way into this release! Among them are: support for Privileged Access Management solutions, integration with Oracle Fleet Patching and Provisioning, support for Exadata Database Service on Dedicated Infrastructure, new REST APIs, and many others. Highlights of Enterprise Manager 13.5 RU14, released this week, include:
Privileged Access Management Integration with Enterprise Manager
While security continues to be a critical part of managing an enterprise, Privileged Access Management (PAM) solutions that enable sensitive data to be centrally managed, have become much more popular. You can now use a PAM solution to manage privileged access to accounts, credentials, and secure operations while performing Enterprise Manager management tasks such as database patching, and running host commands and jobs. Be to sure check out this new blog for a lot more detail about this key integration.
Integration with Oracle Fleet Patching and Provisioning
Oracle Fleet Patching and Provisioning (FPP), a lifecycle management solution for provisioning and maintaining Oracle Homes, now integrates with Enterprise Manager. This enables those of you using FPP to leverage multiple Enterprise Manager capabilities such as getting security patch recommendations and proactive patching using Fleet Maintenance. Note that an Oracle Database Lifecycle Management Pack license is required to use this new capability.
Discover and Monitor Oracle Exadata Database Service on Dedicated Infrastructure Targets
If you are managing Engineered Systems, specifically Oracle Exadata Database Service on Dedicated Infrastructure, you can now use a guided discovery process to monitor the Exadata Infrastructure
target types. You can simply provide the monitoring agent details, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) account details, and even storage server details, and then select the cloud targets to be discovered.
Credentials Management and Jobs Management REST Endpoints
Two more sets of REST APIs were released with this version:
- A set of endpoints to manage the Oracle Enterprise Manager Named Credentials
- A set of endpoints to manage Deployment Procedures
Pre-Migration Analyzer for Transportable Tablespace Migrations: Enterprise Manager Migration Workbench has new improvements. The Cloud Premigration Advisor Tool (CPAT) has been integrated with the Migration Workbench since Release 5 Update 4 (13.5.0.4). Now, the Migration Workbench can perform a CPAT-like pre-migration analysis on Transportable Tablespace migrations enabling you to validate, view reports, and correct potential migration errors before actually submitting a migration.
STIG Standard Version 2 Release 5 for Oracle Database 12c and 19c
Our list of standards continues to grow with the latest STIG Version 2 Release 5 standards for Oracle Database 12c and 19c. They are now available via the Self Update option and the traditional Configuration and Compliance standard options.
New resync_target EM CLI Verb
For the targets monitoring space, a new EM CLI verb was added to help in keeping the OMS and agents in sync. The resync_target
verb reads the target data collection, the Metric Extension attachments, and deployment settings, and sends it to an agent to remain synchronized with the OMS. This verb can be used to synchronize targets when reports indicate that the OMS and agent target collection settings do not match, or that the metric extension deployment or attachment is missing, or if the alerts are not generated as expected.
